Who is eligible to participate?

Eligible Job Seekers are people who:

Self-identify as Autistic, neurodivergent, or as a person with a disability.

Are motivated and actively looking for a job.

Want to learn how to prepare for and find employment.

Want to get and keep a job.

Have a valid Social Insurance Number (SIN).

Have the legal right to work in Canada (for example, Canadian citizens, permanent residents, or individuals with refugee status).

How is the service delivered?

EmploymentWorks provides support with getting a job and keeping a job, with support available up to one year.

Getting a Job

You will work with EmploymentWorks staff to identify your goals, explore job options, and take steps toward finding a job.

Activities include:

  • Creating an employment plan based on your goals.
  • Regular one-to-one facilitator support.
  • Looking for jobs and connecting with employers.
  • Opportunities to explore different workplaces and gain experience.
  • Building skills through online learning, LinkedIn Learning, and group sessions.

Keeping a Job

Once you secure employment, EmploymentWorks can continue to provide support to help you succeed in your role.

Job supports may include:

  • Job Coaching to support workplace success.
  • Funded Work Experience to help offset employer costs related to onboarding and training.

EmploymentWorks Online is accessible to individuals across Canada, regardless of location. The service is available in both English and French, with team members who can provide live support in either language.

If you identify as Autistic, neurodivergent, or as a person with a disability, are actively looking for a job, and prefer an online option that provides flexibility along with structured support, EmploymentWorks Online may be a good fit for you.

EmploymentWorks helps you find a job by providing personalized planning, one-to-one support, job search guidance, and opportunities to gain workplace experience.

Once you start working, ongoing supports are available to help you succeed and keep a job. These may include job coaching support, help with workplace accommodations, funded work experience, and access to 24/7 mental health resources through a Family Assistance Program.

Job Seekers may receive support for up to 12 months from their service start date. Funding for the current project is set to expire on March 31, 2027. Continued services beyond this date are subject to funding availability.

You do not need previous work experience. The service is intended for people who are ready and able to begin actively looking for a job right now.

There are no fees to access EmploymentWorks Online.
