What commitment does the program require from employers?

The time commitment will vary depending on the type of program engagement.

Many employers have discovered new employees through the program, but there is no requirement to hire. Employer partners who provide paid work experiences may decide to offer longer term employment to retain their newly discovered talent.

Program staff will work with you to identify job sampling activities and tasks, and will accompany participants to the workplace at a ratio of 1 staff to 4 participants. Training and professional development to enhance business confidence to support diverse workers and create inclusive and accessible workplaces is also available.

No, participants typically only spend 2.5 hours at a workplace observing and sampling job tasks. Employees are encouraged to provide guidance and feedback to participants, and to share their employment insights.
